BOD Present: Will Hunt, Brenda Anderson, Megan Zawacki, Tonya McCormick, Matt Zemacke, Don Sullivan, John Breneman, Kally Wilson, and Dirk Gillette

 

BOD not Present: Tyler Seick

Agenda

Welcome/Call to Order                                            Will Hunt – President

 

Minutes from Previous Meeting                              Brenda Anderson – Secretary

·      Minutes from the previous meeting were e-mailed to the BOD to review prior to the meeting.

·      Will moved to approve the Secretary’s Minutes.

·      Don seconded the motion, minutes were approved.

 

Treasurer’s Report - Will Hunt

·      No updated treasures report this evening

·      Goal is to move accounts from Will’s name and Kally’s name to Tyler and Carl.

·      Tyler has created a budget for the fiscal year and will present it at our next meeting in June

 

New Business/Updates:

 

Website: options

AffiniscapeàYourmembership

·      Can roll over from Affiniscape to Yourmembership

·      Cost is the same as Affiniscape (3,500.00 per year), no change in cost for 2 years. Renewal is due in May 2013

·      More robust website, and seems user friendly. Interaction with Facebook, Twitter, etc. Ability to have meetings through Yourmembership

Memberclicks

·      Independent, smaller company based out of Georgia

·      They can move our pages to their platform

·      Cost  is $1,800.00 annually

·      Smaller company, concern is can they keep up with current technology.

 

Wild Apricot

·      Independent smaller company based out of Toronto Canada

·      Need to set up a meeting with Wild Apricot representative.

 

Policies and Procedures Addendum RE: Travel Reimbursement

·      Current Policies and Procedures

209.00 Travel and Reimbursement Guidelines

209.02 BOD officers may be reimbursed to attend BOD meetings and to represent MTAPA.  Committee Chairpersons may be reimbursed for mileage to attend BOD meetings (2/25/95) (Revised 8/6/10)

·      Don moved to change the wording to the policies and procedures 209.02 as follows:

 MTAPA will reimburse the MTAPA Committee Chairperson for the cost of travel at the current federal mileage reimbursement rate. Brenda seconded the motion. Motion passed.

·      Will moved to update the wording to the policies and procedures 209.06 Brenda seconded the motion. Motion passed.

All requests for reimbursement will be submitted to MTAPA Administrative Office on the MTAPA Reimbursement Form with attached receipts (Revised 4/23/04, 8/6/10)

 

Legislative Issues

            State –SB 84: Patient Centered Medical Home - Passed Senate and now in                                         Health and Human Services Committee in the House

This is a no cost bill that defines what a Patient Centered Medical home is and provides anti-trust protection.

 

State –SB 395: Work Force Data Collection. Tonya encouraged BOD to contact the legislature to pass this bill. To be heard in House Committee on 4/15/13 at 3:00 PM

 

State –SB 292 Peer Review Process Clarified definitions. This is on the desk of the Governor.

Committee Reports:

CME  – Will Hunt

·      All speakers and topics have been confirmed

·      Working on learning objectives (mostly done) and speaker biographies (will be done by the end of the month).

·      Will wants to make sure the learning objectives are on the thumb drive given to all conference attendees.

·      Larry Herman, AAPA president will be present,  and we will have a reception on Tuesday night prior to the conference.

 

Membership – Kally Wilson

·      Members with an active status is currently 64

·      Three e-mails went out to remind people to renew their membership and two hard copies went out in the mail.

 

Legislative – Please see above

 

Elections – President-Elect/Past President

5 Seats open this Spring

·      President-elect

·      Treasurer

·      Secretary – Brenda has expressed interest in continuing in this position

·      Director at Large

·      Jr. House Of Delegate Member – Matt has expressed interest in continuing in this position

·      Tammy Scott has expressed interest in either the Treasurer or Director at Large.

·      Tonya will run an inquiry to see if anyone has expressed interest in a position via checking the box on the membership renewal form.

 

Other Reports:

 

Board of Medical Examiners                                    Don Sullivan

·      Work Force Data Collection- the board has not taken a position on this. They are waiting to getting more information

·      No other PA issues have been brought before the board.

·      Physician assisted suicide – BOME has chosen not to take a position on this.

 

Student                                                          John Breneman

·      One month until the beginning of the summer semester

·      The students are looking forward to starting their clinical rotations after the end of the summer semester.

·      Excited that CME conference will be held in Billings this year

 

Scholarship                                                    Tammy Scott 

·      A letter went out, but we have not received any applications thus far. The deadline for application completion is July 1, 2013.

STAR Representative                                    Tammy Scott

                                                                        Heather Hart

·      Tammy has participated in two meetings so far. Discussions have included reimbursement issues.

·      Tammy is going to the AAPA national meeting and will meet with the group at that time.

 

House of Delegates                                       Dewey and Matt

  • Will suggested we post HOD resolution topics on the on the website

·      Can send an e-blast through AAPA, but this may have a fee

 

Administration                                              Tonya McCormack

·      Save the Date post cards went out in March. Tonya only received one reply from this mailing.

·      Reminder of annual report to be filed with the state. Needs to be done by April 15th. Tyler will send this in. Question of whether or not we want to have an audit done this year.

·      FYI Contract with MMA runs from August 1, 2012 to July 31, 2013.

 

Newsletter                                                     Kally Wilson

·      Recommend May, June timeframe. Will and Kally will f/u on that. Will suggested waiting until after Impact 2013

 

Establish Next BOD Meeting Time June.., 2013. Brenda will send out a doodle poll in May for the first 2 weeks in June.
