Old Business Items

Website Update – Scheduled for Migration for mid-January

            Takes approximately 30 – 90 days

Migration Team: Will Hunt, Tonya McCormick, Peter Bulley

Tammy may also join the team if her schedule allows

Insurance Offer – Troy Baccas

Will sent out information from Troy. He found a company that would give us a 10% discount. Tammy moved to hold off on offering the disability insurance and to invite Troy to the CME conference this summer in June. Matt seconded the motion. Motion passed. Christene moved to offer Troy to have a booth at the conference. Tammy seconded the Motion passed.

Donation to the Leroy Biesheuvel fund

The fund is managed by his family. It is not limited to physician assistants. It is open to most medical professions. In October, we voted to give a one time donation of $1000.00 to the fund.  We have asked the family to contact us for future donations and if funding allowed, we will be interested in future donations.

Will recommended we invite Paul Wheeler, former MTAPA member, to speak at the CME Conference to inform attendees about the contributions Leroy gave to MTAPA. Christene recommended we notify Rocky Mountain College of this scholarship.

Committee Reports:

CME : Will – Conference – Great Falls MT, June 18 – 20, 2014

            Timeline reviewed and provided.

We are behind, at this time we only have 4 confirmed speakers. Will has made contact with PA's in Great Falls. So far there are only two people, Eldon and Jamie, in addition to Will and Tammy working on this. Tammy has a list of physicians that she will contact in the next couple of days to see if they would be willing to speak at the conference.  Will is going provide an update to the group sometime next week.

If we plan to apply for grants again this year. We will have to make a connection soon, as most need to be submitted 90 days in advance.

Membership: Vacant

We planned to do a telephone membership drive to inform non-members of the benefits MTAPA has to offer and find out what else would incentivize them to join MTAPA. Tammy called Tonya to get the list of PA's from the database, but this plan did work due to lack of information obtained from the list.

MMA Directory will cost us  $1000.00 for a 1/2 page add this year. They are putting the forms together to send out to Montana PA's to update the directory.  Will moved for MTAPA to fund $1000.00 for a 1/2 page add in the 2014 MMA Directory. Motion seconded by Kally and Tammy. Motion passed.

Elections:  President-Elect – Positions open next spring

                        President-Elect

                        Director at Large (Megan’s position)

House of Delegate member – (Dewey’s position)

Other Reports:

Board Of Medical Examiners                       Don Sullivan

Don requested to step down from this position, but then decided to reconsider.  Concern is that he has not attended very many meetings. Ben Lindeman may be interested in this position.  Kay Bills may also be interested in this position.

Student Representative                               Luke Altenhofen

Students just stared Spring semester. Rocky is involved with Riverstone Health so the PA students will get to shadow PA's there.

Scholarship                                                    Tammy Scott – Scholarship Committee

            Nothing new to report.

House Of Delegates                                       Dewey and Matt – HOD Delegates

Need to complete registration form for MTAPA's two delegates. Resolutions need to be submitted 60-90 days in advance.  Congress has been good at including PA's in legislation, due to PA's promoting our profession.

Montana has four of the Six Key Elements of an Ideal Practice Act.  We have the Adaptable Supervision Requirements, No mile limit, No on-site and No Chart Co-signature. We don't have adaptable supervision requirements and we need co-signatures on patient charts.

Will is going to the leadership meeting  Feb 27,28 and March 1, 2014 in Washington D.C.

Administration                                              Tonya McCormack – Administration

Tonya has been in contact with Affiniscape with the upcoming merge.

New Business:
